Billie Blue - this cobalt rutile glazed face jug was hand thrown on the potters wheel.
Billie Blue was a party boy. The bigger the party the better, when Billie broke out the spirits people came from miles around to get down and dance in the moon.
Thousands would sleep in the old cow pasture to party with Billie. The celebration would last for days, inebriated sunburned and wasted, the crowd would stay until the last song was sung and the last spirit was toasted.
Next day Billie Blue would be planning the next dance under the moon.
I really feel in love with how the glaze ran and pulled extra carbon out of the kiln, createing this unduplicatable oil spoting of the glaze.
This face jug measures 11.3 inches tall by 8.5 ear to ear.

River Run Ronnie - a freckled white glazed hand thrown face jug.
Ronnie was a likable guy always there to lend a hand. Ronnie ran the many rivers that flowed through the big woods.
River Run was not one to set still, always on the move always up to something.
He had a deep understanding of the natural world and was as comfortable curled up in a bear den as he was in a feather bed.

CWD Red Man - this hand thrown copper red face jug was made by Josh Boock

Big Frank a Devil Jug -
hand thrown on the potters wheel and then sculpted into a Ugly copper red devil jug.
Big Frank was sly like a fox.
Frankie took the fullest advantage of being smarter than he looked, and he didn’t look very smart. Always putting his dues on the cuff and taking his cut up front put Big Frank ahead.
Frank had to stay ahead or possibly end up in the cooler or worse. Running hard, burning the bridges behind him and avoiding dead end roads, kept Big Frank fat and prosperous.
This copper red devil jug measures about 10 inches tall by 4.8 in diameter.

DANNY BOY A Red Running Face Jug -
Hand thrown and then altered this is one of my favorite face jugs.
Long Legs and Long in the Tooth, is what " Danny Boy " was known for.
Some would say he was a little to long in the tooth, and that his loads where always late.
When cards where played, it was know to always watch Danny, and never give him credit. Because if he wanted he could run very quick, down the old river.
Thrown and then altered into a leged jug, this highly unique copper red face jug measures about 12.2 inches tall by 9.5 inches the long way across the feet.

Ol Bobby Bullhead - hand thrown face jug made in the north woods of Bemidji, MN.
Bobby Bullhead operated down behind the graveyard, along the second bend in the river under an old abandoned bridge. Ol Bullhead paid little worry to the law, married to the sheriffs sister as he was. He only had to fear the competition and for good reason, protected by the law as he was he had few friends in the trade.
He suffered many losses, to raids by Danny Boy and his boys. He would find his equipment smashed, and his wares polluted.
Ol Bullhead kept moving ahead despite the set backs he suffered. His wares were only mediocre , BUT readily available because of the protection he was afforded.
This copper red stoneware pottery face jug measures about 10.75 inches tall by 8.5 inches in diameter.

Morning Mash of the Jade Green Family of Jugs -
Hand thrown celadon glazed face jug by self representing artist Josh Boock.
Morning Mash had a green almost Jade complexion. Some thought his complexion was from his glaze, but others knew, it was from BAD or Unfinished Morning Mash.
Having a stomach made of lead, he never shead a tear when it came to carrying out Long Neck Erine's dirty work.
Once Erine told Morning Mash to go to work on Danny Boy, Morning Mash scowled his porcelain forehead to work on the problem. And when he caught up to Danny Boy on Trappers Lane, only Morning Mash had a smile from ear to ear.
This hand thrown stoneware face jug measures about 9.2 inches tall by 9.5 ear to ear.

PANSHOT PETE - a jade green hand made stoneware face jug measures 9 inches tall.
PanShot Pete hailed from the south. Raised on Possum Gravy and Grits, problem was PanShot didn't much care for grits, which had stunted his growth and turned him green.
Needless to say the green little guy wasn't to swift physically and he was not to quick mentally either. But Pete could shoot a shot gun like he had a eye of a eagle.
Pete ate what he shot and shot what he liked to eat.
Eattin, was what PanShot liked best about growing up. Often PanShot would trade whiskey for shot, Powder, or ball.
Pete never was bothered by the revenuers possibly because he they took a kind heart on a very green little man, or maybe they where scared of that shotgun.
